The First Flight on a Plane

We are in the United States of America. It is the seventeenth of December 1903. It's very cold. Two young men are pushing a very primitive plane. They are going to fly in it. The two men are brothers: Orville and Wirbur Wright.

The aeroplane is like a box. It has two wings but it hasn't got any wheels.

Orville flies first. He stays in the air for twelve seconds. Wirbur flies next and stays up for fifty-nine seconds.
